The temple standing before us holds a sacred legacy dating back some 400 years, its very foundation laid during the illustrious Chola period. Through the passage of time, its walls have borne witness to the unwavering devotion of generations past and present. Guided by the wisdom of our ancestors, the villagers have faithfully upheld the rituals of Pujas and Thirunals, bestowing upon the Goddess the reverence she rightfully deserves. In their hands, the flame of tradition burns bright, illuminating the path of spiritual continuity for all who seek solace within these hallowed grounds.

 
During that time the villagers and devotees of the Goddess used to worship Sri Sri Sri Kothapuramma as the wish-fulfilling mother. It was believed that childless and sick people would be cured by wearing Amma’s Bandar. Moreover, many people have said that if they circumambulate Amma temple nine times and say their heart’s wishes, they will surely get fulfilled. Thirunallu of this Ammavari is very important in Rayachoti taluk. A large number of devotees used to come not only from Rayachoti but also from other places on Ammavari’s Thirunals.
